For a long time, the gym was the only thing keeping me grounded. It gave me structure when life felt messy and control when everything else felt out of reach. Lifting became my way of coping because it was the one place I didn’t have to think about anything else. But I wasn’t healing. I poured all my energy into getting stronger on the outside, hoping it would somehow fix what I was avoiding on the inside. I kept moving, kept lifting, kept going, not realizing I was using the gym as a distraction.
Eventually, it all caught up to me. The burnout. The numbness. The feeling that no matter how consistent I was, something was still missing. Even the gym, which used to feel like my escape, started to feel empty. That’s when I knew I needed something more. Not another tracker. Not another push to keep going. I needed a space to slow down, to process what I’d been carrying, and to reconnect with myself, both mentally and physically.
